Ms. Lessault is the manager and owner of Gastronomicom, an international culinary academy that offers students intensive classes in French and a choice of gastronomy programs focusing on cooking, pastry, wine, or fine dining. Before opening the school seven years ago, Ms. Lessault gained more than 15 years of management experience at elegant four- and five-star hotels in Europe, most recently at Hotel Beau Rivage in Switzerland, one of the leading hotels of the world. Ms. Lessault also worked for nine years as the director of international relations for a hotel management school. As the manager and owner of Gastronomicom, she uses her expertise in communication and quality education to consistently deliver the right services. She also shares her passion for food and for people. Her responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the academy and developing its specialized programs, which are presented by highly qualified instructors who use the finest teaching methods.
Gastronomicom offers one-month, three-month, seven months, one-year and two-year programs. All of the programs include hands-on cooking or hands-on pastry classes, as well as wine lessons. The more extended programs also feature food and beverage internships that provide practical work experience. In addition, all students receive an introduction to French culture and instruction in the French language, including professional vocabulary. Students who complete full programs and internships at Gastronomicom students receive a French certificate + a cooking or most renowned hotels and restaurants.
In addition to her culinary endeavors, Ms. Lessault strives to improve the image and quality of women in leadership. About 10 years ago, she started a woman’s management association in Portugal. The group elects a woman manager of the year and helps women improve in leadership qualities.
Ms. Lessault studied hospitality management at Switzerland’s prestigious Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne, and holds membership to the Eurhodip Hotel Association. She attributes her success to her passion, honesty and love for people. Her future plans include moving Gastronomicom forward, opening up a franchise in Brazil and starting culinary courses in China. She also hopes to develop her brand and continue inspiring students from around the world who have a passion for the art of French cooking.
